I’ve been taking my vehicles to Independent Motors for >10 years. I have always appreciated their professionalism, fairness, honesty, and willingness to make things right. In my most recent visit, they quoted me $900 but only charged $600 because they finished early.
Greg Harrington was a pleasure to work with. He inspected a vehicle before my purchase of it and felt like I got a comprehensive idea of what I was getting into. Not only that, he helped me out to understand what to look out for in the future. He was quite knowledgable and helpful and I would highly recommend visiting!
I honestly wouldn't go anywhere else in Colorado. They have saved me thousands of dollars in repairs by finding cheaper solutions and giving me honest feedback. Many years ago I was told I needed an entirely new transmission for my Jeep from a different shop and it was going to cost over $3,000. Independent motors told me that they could repair it and charged me about a thousand. I never had an issue with the transmission again. Since then I've taken my manual Tacoma in multiple times when it was having issues and they often times resolved those issues and didn't even charge me. (Ie loose bolts on my clutch pedal. They could have told me it was something else but instead they tightened it and fixed it free of charge. Issues with my power steering wound up just being a loose belt. Again, they fixed free of charge.) Many situations they could have been dishonest because I honestly don't know better... but instead they gave me accurate information, fair prices and amazing customer service. Whenever I call I ask for Greg. I'm sure everyone else is great too but he's incredible. Definitely recommend this place to anyone who is nervous or distrusting of shops. You can trust these guys and they do great work.
I take all my cars here. They are trustworthy and stand behind their work. The mechanics are top notch and have a lot of experience with all types of cars.I have older Toyotas and they know how to fix them so I can keep my trucks on the road or as long as possible.
I had previously written a review for Independent Motors in which I stated that I trust them with the safety of my family. Nothing was ever more true than the trying experiences during the recent few weeks in my hometown. We have lived in Louisville, CO for 33 years, and have always felt safe and secure in our home there. However, the wildfire in our little town on December 30, 2021 shocked and horrified us as we had only minutes to evacuate our home. I sent my wife, daughter, grandson and son-in-law ahead in a recent year Honda to her sister’s house in Black Forest, CO while I took care of a few details and later escaped in a 21-year-old Camry. During the evacuation period, I fell very ill and wasn’t able to manage the family’s travel needs, so all responsibility for taking the kids back to Louisville for Covid testing, and later back to DIA to head back home, and to care for me fell on the shoulders of my very capable wife. The weather was snowy, and sub-zero temperatures were upon us during those days, and my wife confessed that she feared that the extreme weather and critical moments might find our normally garaged vehicles fail for the first time. After all, who would have thought that our home might burn down as well?Fortunately, our home was barely spared from the fire, and both cars performed as expected because of the years of reliable service from Independent Motors. This story demonstrates exactly what I meant when I said that I entrust Independent Motors with the safety of my family. They continue to earn my trust and confidence.
Usually take my Grand Cherokee to the dealership but this place was recommended by a friend so figured id give it a shot.Made an appointment to have a driveline fluid change and brake flush done. Dropped my car off at 9am the day of the appointment and was told it'd be done by the end of the day. When I showed up to collect my car, they told me they didn't have the right fluid for my transfer case(really?) so they had to go buy some and they didn't even get to the brake fluid flush.Ended up waiting 45mins for a job half done. Definitely won't be coming back.
The gentlemen here were very professional when asking for a general tune up on my car before leaving on a cross country trip. They did an all around inspection of the motor, tires and fluids before letting me know that I had some other major issues that needed to be addressed that I was unaware of. It was a genuine concern of theirs that I make it safely across the country on my trip without breaking down. After agreeing to fix some other major components the job actually came under budget which was a pleasant surprise. I would highly recommend this establishment and would return to have work done in the future. They definitely went the extra mile to ensure that I would have a safe trip and made sure to havey car done within one day as promised.
I wholeheartedly recommend Independent Motors for your vehicle needs in Boulder! Jason (and the rest of the staff) has provided excellent service in the past year. I had a difficult issue with a lemon of a used car purchased for my daughter and Jason was incredibly patient in helping me understand the repairs needed and analyzing whether it was worth it or not. Later, after I ended up deciding to get a different vehicle, he help analyze the choices and ultimately I used Independent Motors to replace tires and care for both my and my daughters vehicles. I do not have knowledge of vehicles - so I need to have someone I trust. I trust Jason, Greg and the other staff. Just today, after getting oil changes in both cars, I left the lot and my turn signal wasn't working. They got me right back in, replaced several bulbs that were out (requiring putting it on the jack) and only charged the bulb cost. I feel respected when I have my car serviced (even though I know nothing about cars). I have to say - I was embarrassed about how often I called Jason when I was struggling with the lemon-used-car issue, but he never made me feel bad for asking questions and gave me well reasoned answers. Highly recommended.
I just had my 150K mile service on my 2003 Lexus RX300. They have serviced my car since I purchased it new in 2003. I couldn't be more pleased. They also had to replace my power steering pump (discovered issue during service). We had to wait a few more days for the part. In the meantime, they gave me a loaner. Over the years I have had nothing but exceptional service. I don't know the first thing about cars. Jason (at the front desk) has always been able to help me understand what's up. I can then make an informed decision as to timing and cost of any needed repairs. I also buy my tires there and get free rotation and balancing when needed. I have no doubt that my car will last another 150K miles under their care. Thanks Independent Motors!!
Three warning lights came on this morning and I was panicking, because I’m moving to Ohio this weekend. Called independent motors and talked to Jason and he said I could bring it right by. He checked the codes and looked at the engine and found I have knocked off a hose when I put in a new air filter, put the hose back on and cleared the codes all in less than 5 minutes. I asked him how much it was, and I was ready to pay anything, but he said it was just a courtesy, free. Just wonderful service, couldn’t thank him enough.
I was having some weird brake issues with my Ford Edge and had to look for a local shop, found Independent Motors, and both Greg and Jason help me out, they are great! Amazing service and by far best shop in town! Highly recommend and will be returning.
